Tenshi Tachi are supernatural beings obsessed with purifying the "unclean" humans.
Angels have only one goal in mind: purifying humans from their sins. They believe the only ways to do this are to extensively modify a human's behavior and thinking and/or to completely annihilate them and to start over, an act they say will bring about "Doomsday."
They no problem interfering in the affairs of other races, which has been shown to annoy both Shinigami and demons. Devil dogs and dolls, however, are more then willing to completely obey anything requested of them showing that those of lesser degress of intellegence are easily manipulated by angels.
While it is not clearly specified, they seem to have access to special weapons, such as Ash's sword. A weapon powerful enough to cleanly cut off Sebastian's left arm where weapons of such nature had little to no effect on him before..
Abilities
Angels have demonstrated a few abilities including:
Flying: The wings they have are not merely for aesthetic affect and can be used to fly.
Transforming: By hiding their wings, they are able to appear human and can switch from a human to angel form with ease.
Rewriting history: They can change the past by modifying Shinigami's magic plays, an ability not even Shinigami possess.
Enhanced fighting abilities: They have been shown to have enhanced speed, endurance and fighting abilities. Yet are a lesser race, they are not immune to a Shinigami's death scythe and when faced by a demon's true form, they are easily killed.
Projectiles: By using the feathers in their wings, they are able to shoot feathers at high speed and with extreme force.
